Children as Agentic Citizens- Honouring the Voice of Children in Curriculum Design

Learning is a complex and multifaceted process which is deeply connected with culture, identity and belonging.

Through ideas shared from research and practice, this keynote will explore questions such as:

  • How can programs foster children’s sense of belonging to further develop their sense of identity and allow them to flourish?
  • What does an engaging and stimulating program look like that enables many opportunities for meaningful participation?
  • How does our view of children, influence the role that we have in their learning and the environments that we create as a result?
  • How might we consider strategies for seeking children’s input into decision making as part of an inclusive learning environment?
